Songkran Splash by PG Soft brings the vibrant energy of Thailand’s Songkran festival to life on the reels. With water fights, bright floral decorations, and festive vibes, this game offers much more than just a visual treat. It’s packed with unique gameplay elements that make every spin exciting. In this article, we’ll break down the mechanics, symbols, and features that make Songkran Splash stand out.
1. Reel Layout and Paylines
Unlike standard slot games, Songkran Splash features a 5-reel, 3-4-5-4-3 layout, creating a diamond-shaped grid. This unconventional design gives players 720 ways to win, far more than the traditional 10, 20, or even 243 paylines found in many slots.
Winning combinations are formed by matching symbols on adjacent reels, starting from the leftmost reel. The numerous ways to win, combined with the unique layout, provide players with endless possibilities for exciting payouts!
2. Betting Options and Volatility
The game accommodates a wide range of players:
- Minimum bet: $0.60
- Maximum bet: $180
This makes Songkran Splash suitable for both casual players who enjoy low-stakes fun and high rollers seeking bigger thrills. The game’s medium-to-high volatility means you might experience dry spells, but the potential for large, rewarding wins makes the risk worthwhile.
3. Symbols and Payouts
The symbols in Songkran Splash reflect the festival’s lively spirit:
- Low-paying symbols: Traditional card suits (10, J, Q, K, A) decorated with water splashes.
- High-paying symbols: Festival-themed icons, like water guns, flower garlands, water buckets, and traditional Thai dancers.
The dancer symbol is the most valuable, rewarding the highest payouts for landing 5 on a winning way.
4. Wild Symbols and Their Role
The wild symbol in Songkran Splash helps substitute for other symbols to complete winning combinations — but it only appears on reels 2, 3, and 4. While you won’t find wilds on the first or last reel, their presence in the middle reels can still significantly boost your chances of hitting multiple winning combinations at once.
5. Scatter Symbols and Free Spins Feature
The scatter symbol, represented by a golden bowl of water, is your ticket to the game’s lucrative Free Spins feature:
- 3 scatters: 12 free spins
- 4 scatters: 14 free spins
- 5 scatters: 16 free spins
One of the most exciting aspects of the free spins round is that multipliers don’t reset between spins, meaning your winnings can snowball into massive rewards by the end of the feature.
6. Multiplier Reels for Bigger Wins
The game’s multiplier reels add another layer of excitement. During both the base game and free spins, certain reels may come with x2, x3, or even x5 multipliers.
In the free spins feature, these multipliers stack and persist, so if you get multiple multipliers across different reels, your payouts can escalate rapidly. This feature adds an unpredictable, high-reward element to the game.
Example:
- A winning combination with x2 on reel 2 and x3 on reel 4 would multiply your win by 6x!
7. Stacked Symbols and Cascading Wins
Another dynamic feature is the presence of stacked symbols, which can fill entire reels, making it easier to land big wins across multiple paylines. While the game doesn’t use a traditional cascading reels mechanic (where winning symbols disappear and new ones fall into place), the stacked symbols can still lead to chain reactions of wins.
8. Autoplay and Turbo Mode
For players who enjoy fast-paced gameplay, Songkran Splash includes an autoplay option, letting you set a specific number of spins without manually clicking each time. There’s also a turbo mode that speeds up the reels, so you can play more rounds in less time — perfect if you’re chasing those free spins or big multipliers.
9. RTP and Winning Potential
The game’s Return to Player (RTP) is 96.69%, which is above average for slot games. This indicates a fair balance between risk and reward, with the free spins and multiplier features providing ample chances for large payouts.
The maximum win is capped at 5,000x your stake, meaning a lucky spin with the right multipliers could turn even a modest bet into a huge windfall.
10. Why Songkran Splash Is Worth Playing
If you’re looking for a slot game that combines a festive theme with innovative mechanics, Songkran Splash is a fantastic choice. The game’s unique layout, persistent multipliers, and high-energy atmosphere make every spin feel like a celebration.
